Elizabeth Niarchos Neukirch is a Greek American writer exploring the intersections of modern life and Greek myths, folk stories and women’s oral histories. She believes in the lasting power of a well-told story, especially those from women traditionally excluded from the historic record.
A Tin House Summer Workshop alum, Elizabeth has received an Illinois Arts Council Agency grant and residency support from Ragdale and Vermont Studio Center. Her fiction has appeared in The Sunlight Press and Mississippi Review, where she was a finalist for the 2021 Fiction Prize. Her nonfiction writing, criticism and essays have appeared in the Chicago Review of Books, Third Coast Review, Take ONE Magazine, The Daily Chronicle, The MidWeek and publications of Goodman Theatre. Elizabeth is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and StoryStudio Chicago’s Novel in a Year program. She is currently working to publish her first novel: a speculative Greek American immigrant story narrated by a chorus of opinionated village women, woven with folktales and the history of a Greek revolutionary heroine.
Elizabeth is represented by Emily Forland at Brandt & Hochman Literary Agents.
Elizabeth is also a public relations and communications consultant for arts, nonprofit and mission-driven organizations. For information about Elizabeth Neukirch PR Consulting, visit this LinkedIn page.
